Schönheit Gardens Landscaping is a full-service landscaping company and a seasonal garden center located in the town of Sun Prairie, WI, just 3 miles outside of the City of Madison. We are looking for individuals to join our growing team as a Garden Center Associate. If you’re a person who has a passion for gardening and loves being outdoors, and enjoys engaging with the community, this is the perfect job for you.

Description of Position: A Garden Center Associate works in a team environment to maintain a clean, beautiful, and healthy plant stock and retail garden center. You will be providing stellar customer service along with supporting our landscaping department with a commitment to quality and professionalism. In addition, all successful applicants must demonstrate the ability to be self-starting and work cooperatively and efficiently in a team environment. This position is needed on a temporary, part-time basis, approximately April through mid-June with the possibility of staying on for qualified candidates. Experience is preferred but not required. We will train motivated individuals.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Attend to customer needs and questions

• Conduct cash register transactions

• General plant maintenance including:

  • Watering

  • Weeding

  • Deadheading

  • Pruning

• Assist in unloading deliveries of plant material

• Assist with the maintenance of property gardens

• General cleaning and organizing of the retail space

• Keep up to date with all sales, promotions, events, and offerings the garden center is promoting

Necessary Skills/Qualifications:

• Must be able to lift 40 lbs. throughout the day.

• Must be available 2-5 days a week including 1 day per weekend.

• Able to work in all weather conditions.

Wage Range: $13-$16 per hour based on experience.
